Fulton County Spelling Bee
|
Following building level competitions in
our junior high and elementary schools, 11
talented Johnstown students have
demonstrated their prowess with
orthography1,
out-spelling their classmates and earning
the right to compete in the
19th annual Fulton County Spelling Bee,
sponsored by The Leader-Herald.
Our gifted wordsmiths will assemble at
Gloversville Middle School at 6:30 p.m. on
Monday, March 14*, to compete with
students from surrounding school districts
while showcasing their spelling skills.
The champion of this contest will earn a
trip to the
Scripps National Spelling Bee in
Washington, D.C., June 1-2, 2011. Travel
expenses will be paid courtesy of The
Leader Herald.
We congratulate our super-spellers from
the Greater Johnstown School District for
their accomplishments, and wish them well
as they proceed to the next challenging
level:

"a part of language study that deals with letters and
spelling."
