Board of Education Standing Committees
Board members often work in standing committees to collect or review information and data. Standing committees act in an advisory capacity only; they are not a quorum, do not have any of the powers and duties invested by law in the School Board, and have no authority to take any formal action. Standing committees meet on a regular basis and the chairman presents a report at regular monthly meetings of the Board of Education. There are presently four standing committees (facilities/restructuring/academic, audit/finance, extra-curricular and negotiations). Additional committees can be created on an "as needed basis" to research specific issues.

Please note: The President of the Board of Education is an ex-officio member of each standing committee (Policy #2210).

The committee shall select a "secretary" from the committee members.
