Counseling
Available to Students in Wake of Tragedy
The
recent tragic accident that claimed the life of a former
Johnstown High School student and injured a current
senior class member is very sad. Our thoughts, prayers
and condolences go out to the family during this
sorrowful time. Trying to explain reasons when your
teenager asks ‘why?’ is very difficult. The stages of
grief will occur and each person will grieve
differently. Please know that the school staff is ready
to support your student if and when there is a need.
Immediate action was taken Monday morning in
anticipation of helping students deal with the tragedy
by making counseling personnel available for support. If
your student needs to speak with someone at school,
please encourage him or her to seek a counselor in the
building.

STOP and Pick Up a Book at Johnstown High School’s
BookCrossing Zone
Students
in Mrs. Bacon’s World Literature class have established
Johnstown High School as a BookCrossing zone. The World
Literature class has partnered with School Librarian Dylan
Thomarie, to register Johnstown High School’s library as a
zone for people to acquire traveling books.
The idea behind BookCrossing is to read a book, register it
at
www.bookcrossing.com, journal a review of the book, and
then release the book anywhere for others to enjoy.
Sometimes books are left in coffee shops, on park benches,
or stationary places such as Johnstown High School.
