High School Orientation
A High School Orientation for eighth graders and their
parents will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January
30, 2008 in the High School Auditorium.
In
January I will start meeting with eighth graders and
begin scheduling them for high school. At this time,
we’d like them to be thinking about starting their high
school careers and what areas they might be interested
in pursuing in the future. Of course, most students
won’t know what they want to do for the rest of their
lives, at this age. However, high school is a great time
for them to explore different interests and subject
areas.
As
parents, it is extremely important that you help your
students through this transitional stage. We would like
to invite you along with your eighth grader to the High
School Orientation on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at
6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Here you can
meet with the high school guidance counselors and learn
more about the curriculum and the classes your son or
daughter will need to graduate from high school. It will
be important to be involved in the planning of their
schedules and to get any questions you might have as a
parent answered.
If
you have any questions or are not able to attend, please
call me in the Guidance Office at 762-3726. Hope to see
you all there!
Seventh Grade Orientation
An Orientation for students entering seventh grade will
be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in the
Knox auditorium. Here students and parents
will meet with our building principal Mr. Carr, who will
discuss course requirements, schedules, team teaching,
and a number of areas that will be new to junior high school
students. Students will be given their schedule for the
fall and have an opportunity to check out their classes
as well as try out their new lockers. A number of
teachers and the Guidance Counselor will be there to
help with any questions or concerns.
