A Note from Mr. Blanchard:

 This month our fifth graders will be taking the New York State Social Studies Assessments on Wednesday, November 12th and Thursday November 13th.  Please make sure that your child gets plenty of sleep the night before the exam and has a nutritious breakfast the day of the exam. 

We had a great response to our Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) program.  The students who participated had a “Fun Day” last week and really seemed to enjoy themselves.  Please remember that even though PARP is over, it is important for your child to read on a daily basis.  The more your child reads and learns to love reading, the more successful they will become both in school and life.  Reading at least 20 minutes a day outside of school will build your child’s level of background knowledge and vocabulary.  Please encourage your child to read daily.  If you have trouble getting your child motivated to read, please feel free to call me and I will be happy to help.
